I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said.

Sadly, I think that their transition to international standards - in mind - came instantly. I'm talking about the statements: they remind me a bit of Ubisoft's hyping of Assassins Creed, which by no means is a bad game but still horribly overrated. Or Peter Molyneux's hype of ... well, any game :)

Don't know if it hurts the industry in the long run, but I think that it makes us gamers a bit jaded. Games should be fun, engage our imagination and at least sometimes teach us a thing or two. Not disappointing hyped up code lined up on store-shelves with nothing but massive sales in mind. And I hope that the feedback that You and others have provided will be able to make a change in this case :)

Regards,
PatrikPatrikwww.goodgamerbadgamer.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2579273196566028677.post-82797922166270300882008-03-27T03:18:00.000-07:002008-03-27T03:18:00.000-07:00Patrik,Thanks for dropping by. But yeah, he's a true legend, and now he has spoken about the possibility of remaking Syndicate. I think that I'll be able to forgive him for all the hyping if they succeed.

By the way, dropped by moneycontrol.com and saw that Agni received a FICCI award. It didn't exactly help them to come down to earth again. But in a way it could be good to get acknowledgment on such an event.Patrikwww.goodgamerbadgamer.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2579273196566028677.post-2941908093673649292008-03-30T05:17:00.000-07:002008-03-30T05:17:00.000-07:00Agni actually received a FICCI award? Everyone's philosophy seems to be set on having a game sold based on what it is about or its theme, rather than taking that base and actually making it relevant to the game itself. Dance Mela fits close to that description, and Streets of Mumbai may as well damn well be teetering towards it.

Why can't these guys take a cue from the Independent developer scene. These guys have nothing but the shirts on their back, yet they can still churn out some awe-inspiring stuff. AudioSurf is a perfect example of this.

Oh, and thanks for the requisite shoutout :)Vijay Sinhawww.theangrypixel.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2579273196566028677.post-23069605385425336482008-04-01T07:17:00.000-07:002008-04-01T07:17:00.000-07:00Sweet write-up.
